Six Love Songs, a song cycle for tenor and piano on original texts. Also available for baritone. Duration 13’15”. (1998)
Six Love Songs celebrates the maturing of a long-term love, one that’s gotten far past the giddy stage and is in for the long haul, with all the joy, pain and sacrifice that entails. It was written for and about my wife of (at the time) thirteen years. I have had audience members who have been married far longer than I have thank me for expressing their feelings in this piece.
The recordings feature Gregory Wiest, tenor, and Nicole Winter, piano. Recorded during a live concert in the Echtzeithalle im Einstein in Munich, Germany.
