These four songs are from soprano Diane Menges'
The Jesus Project,an evening-length recital subtitled "A Musical Journey into the Life of Jesus through the Eyes of Poets." Two other composers (Brian Taylor, David Gooding) and I were commissioned to set texts she had found, for soprano and baritone with any combination of piano, violin and cello. "Mary" has a text by Alfred Noyes; the others are by Kahlil Gibran.
